Tis the season..

to spend money, lol. Thank god I'm almost finished with my Christmas shopping. It's been hectic trying to fight the crowds. I always say that I'm going to start my shopping early and it never happens. I don't have many people to buy for so it's not hard but, I always put it off. Mainly because I never have the money to start my shopping early. It sucks. At least I'm almost finished, yay!

I had hoped to have the time to make my Christmas cards this year. Again, I don't have many to send out to people so really, it wouldn't take me long to make them but, I didn't get around to it. My bad. I just went to Wal-Mart and bought some. Hope people don't mind. Haha.

I'll be glad when this season is over. I love winter but I don't like the holiday that goes along with it. It just seems like a waste of time. I guess because of the way it's always been celebrated around my house. It's a sad story. I need no pity. I just don't enjoy Christmas. The end.

School, school, school

It's Thanksgiving week and while most places are out of school, I'm working my butt off to get as far ahead as I can. I don't know if that's a good thing but I guess I'll find out, huh? I took a full course load this semester and while it's a good thing, it has been frustrating trying to hold down a full-time job and go to schoo full-time. I know that all this hard work will be well worth it in the end. It's just, the journey getting there, it's not all peaches and creme. The only class I haven't tried to get ahead in is my US history class. Why? Well, it's simple... I do not like to study history. I enjoy history when it's not something I HAVE to do. This is my last general education class so I shouldn't be complaining too much. It's taken me almost 3 years to go back to school and while it's rough, I'm glad I'm doing it. I guess feeling like you're in a rut is a good way to put a fire under your tail and get you motivated. I'm not saying that I haven't slacked a bit on my classes. I have, just a little. It's a given with me. I really should work on that though. Maybe next semester I will.

Commercialized holiday

I don't blog much on here. Maybe because not many people read my blog. Sometimes I feel so alone on here. It's like, What's the poin? in blogging when very seldom do I get any feedback. I guess I continue to do it in hopes that my blog with help me if not anybody else. I'm not very good at blogging, I've come to that realization. I guess this blog is just kind of an outlet for me sometimes; a place for me to post my scrapbook projects from time to time. Maybe, track my progress? I guess you'd say.

Thanksgiving is coming up. Not that big of a deal to me. Holidays are so commercialized these days. Just another way for people who don't need it to make money off of those of us who want to get together with family and friends and just be happy.

Another creation

I finished the layout for the Round Robin scraplift challenge at It's not much but I like it. I hand cut the flowers myself so that kind of makes it special to me.

It's coming alone nicely...

my room, that is. I managed to paint some more of my room. I have a small portion of the wall behind my computer desk to finish. I would've had it finished already but I just do not have the energy to take everything off my computer desk and move my it. My desk is one of those corner desks that reaches the ceiling. It's a pain to move. It's pretty heavy. So, that's a project for next weekend.

I managed to finish a layout for a challenge on called the Round Robin challenge. When I can upload it for the challenge, I will upload it here. I actually like the way the layout turned out. It has handmade embellishments on it so I'm pretty proud of it.

Newest creation.

Well, I said I would post my layout when I finished it. So, here it is..

It's not much to look at but I think it's cute. Oh, by the way, here is the layout that I lifted.

I'm a lifter.

I have come to the conclusion that I am a lifter. That's right, I admit it. I find myself so many times lifting other people's scrapbook pages. Why? Because other people have such better ideas than I do. My pages don't always turn out as good as theirs though. Maybe that's what I get for lifting instead of racking my brain to come up with my own things. I don't give myself enough credit though. Every once in a while, I come up with a layout that I created completely on my own. But still, my pages never turn out as I had hoped they would. It's alright though.

I'm working on a lift right now and I will post it as soon as I can. It's not turning out the way I had hoped but I think it looks pretty good. I often times find myself wishing I was as talented as some people I have seen. But then, I think about the years they have put in and the money they have spent and, I know why I'm not as good as they are. Maybe after a few years, where I've built up my supplies and tools, I can create better pages. Until then... I'll work with what I've got.

I need to get to work...

...on my layouts for challenges, that is. I have so many pictures I need to get printed. Yet, so many other things that are of more importance. Why can't the world just revolve around scrapbooking?!? Why!!!??? For one day, I would like to be able to just scrap, scrap, scrap. But, alas, real life doesn't allow us to do that, huh? This semester at school will soon come to an end and I'll have a little more free time. I'm almost finished painting my room so that's looking up. As soon as that's finished, it's on to trying to convince my dad to put my new flooring down ASAP. (That, my friends, is a task in itself.) And, hopefully, I will be able to buy a store-away table so that I can hide it when I'm not scrapping on it. No more of this scrapping in the floor or the table in the kitchen. I'm in need of storage ideas for my scrap supplies though! Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a few rubbermaid storage containers but nothing fancy. I will get it figured out I'm sure. Until then, check back for updates...

Scrap'd the idea...

So, I scrap'd the idea of using felt. (For the time being.) My local Wal-Mart was out of every color except white. And, I needed 2 or 3 colors. So until they get a new shipment in, I'm putting the felt technique on hold.

I am working on studying for my AFF (Accelerated Freefall) Certification. Yes, it's skydiving. I want to be able to skydive by myself without being attached Tandem to anybody. For those of you thinking "You're crazy!" just go skydiving once and see if you like it. For me, it was the thrill of a lifetime. And, believe me, I'm not much of a risk taker. It was well worth the risk though. And, I loved it so much, I want to be able to do it on my own. It's great!

Well, I soon hope to have a QuiKutz Revolution. Hopefully, I'm getting it for Christmas(if not before then). If anybody reading this has a Revolution, I'd love to hear feedback. I posted on but haven't heard any feedback. So please, send me feedback if you know anything about it.

New Techniques

I started working on a new layout last night that I thought I'd use some new techniques on. I had this idea to use felt which I've seen some beautiful layouts made using it. I'm always looking for cheaper ways than buying the ready made designs. So, since felt is cheap at Wal-Mart, I decided I'd go buy some felt and try making some felt flowers and maybe a couple flourishes and then decorating them with stickles. I haven't had a chance to head to Wal-Mart just yet but next payday I will be doing that. I'm hoping to have this layout finished for a couple of challenges at I'll post the layout here and explain what I did and how I did it when I am finshed.

Nothing seems to change

It's been a minute since I've been on. I have some catching up to do. Let's see, what have I been up to lately? ... Well, last weekend, I went to Ft. Campbell, KY to visit some friends and though the trip didn't turn out the way I had hoped it would, it was nice to get away from the everyday things here at home. Nevertheless, it's nice to be back at home. Less drama, less noise. Notice I said less, not free from drama or noise.
I was able to finish a layout for a challenge at It's below if you want to see it.

I've managed to almost finish another wall in my room. I swear, someday soon, my room will be completely painted. It's just taking some time.

I have decided that I want to use this blog for more than just posting of my scrapbook things and random blogging. I also want to incorporate my own sketches into this blog somehow. I have seen other sites with scrapbooking sketches that are absolutely wonderful. So, I want to give that a try too!

Other than that, the world is still spinning in monotony like always in this one horse town.

Painting my room

I've been painting my room today. Fun times! I absolutely hate painting buy I wanted my room a light blue. I don't like blue, why am I painting it blue? Simply because it goes great with my sheets. Plus, I'm tired of white walls. They've been white for years and it's about time for a change. White can be so, so boring. Don't you think? Plus, I want a new look for my scrap space I will be creating in the corner. I'll post some pictures when I'm finished. It's taking me a while because of lack of space to move furniture, I have to move a piece, paint, then move it back. So, what should just be a 2 or 3 hr project has to be extended into 2 or 3 weeks. LOL. It's alright though. It'll be pretty when it's finally finished.

On another note, I started some ATCs. I completed 4 Halloween ATCs actually. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get the rest of the Halloween group. I plan on making 11 more.

I finally got around to using the stickles I found at Hobby Lobby. I was so excited when I found them. I couldn't wait to use them. Although, I don't think I did them justice. I probably could've found a more creative way of using them.

In this layout, I used them for the dots around the swirls. I also put them in the corners of the bracket shapes. And, you can't see it in the picture but, each "y" in Hayley's name has a dot of star dust stickle at the top.

Card Making

I have decided I want to start making cards. Now, I haven't decided how I want to go about this. A friend's birthday is coming up and I'd love to make her a card. Plus, I'm broke and it would be cheaper for me to make her one than to buy one. More heart-felt too if I might add. I'm not too crafty on the card scene but I suppose it's similar to scrapbooking. I'm sure anything I make for her she'll love. It's just pleasing myself that's the problem. I'm very picky and sometimes somewhat of a perfectionist. Who knows, I may give in and buy her a card. At this point, I really have no idea. I'm just throwing the thought out there. Maybe I'll be posting my card here soon for you to see, maybe not. I'm definately going to try but sometimes, I don't always follow through with my ideas. Sad, but true.

Have a scrappy day!

A Heck of a Deal!

Well, I went with my mom to visit my grandparents today and, Hobby Lobby is conveniently located between our house and theirs so of course, we had to stop. I'm glad I did! I found 3 great buys.

The first buy I found was a 3 pack of Stickles for $2.50. I didn't know they were that much until I got them to the counter. I was excited to find Stickles because my Hobby Lobby very seldom has them in stock. They are a very popular item around these parts.

The second buy was on some Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Just $2.99! I only bought one because I haven't really used Distress Ink much and wasn't sure I'd use the different colors. Now that I've read up on the product, I wish I had bought the other colors. *sigh* They'll be gone before I get a chance to go back. My nearest Hobby Lobby is 45 minutes away. Well, having this one pad of ink will help me practice and I can get the other colors later and make more beautiful things.

The third item was a set of alphabet stamps for $3.99 regular $5.99. The only thing I do not like about these stamps is that they did not come with numbers. I can make do with them though. I just absolutely love stamps! I'm a stamps/stamp pads junkie!

I just couldn't believe I found the Stickles. This is my hot item of the week. I can't wait to make a layout using them!

New Scrapbook Page

I just wanted to share with everyone my newest scrapbook page. Very seldom do I get to dig into my scrap box and make a page. I was looking through the scrap box to try to find scraps for the October Card Sketch Challenge at and was able to come up with this pretty little piece of art.

I also entered it into the October Doodle Challenge at

Justin & Victoria are a couple of my friends from Ft. Campbell, KY. Justin just recently got his release papers from the Army and they headed back to their home state, California. I'm gonna miss them a lot but hopefully, we can keep in touch.

This was my first time using a tag template and I think it turned out okay. I'm not thrilled about it. I used a staple to attach the ribbon to it. I also did some more stitching and stamped the lettering on there.

New Layout

I've tried my hand at putting together a new layout on here. I hope you guys like it. Bear with my while I twidle with the HTML to make it look halfway decent. If you want one for your blog, click the link in the upper left-hand corner and you can find some awesome layouts just like mine.

I also added a Cbox!

A Happy & Sad Day

I took a trip to Hobby Lobby today. Just to browse (because I have no extra money to spend right now). But, I ended up spending a little bit. I always do. It never fails. I bought a Stampabilities Pigment Ink pad and one piece of paper (that I had been needing in order to start a page). I was only able to get the ink pad in orange but it was on sale for $1.79 and I just couldn't pass it up. I figured sometime I will use orange ink. Or, I'll find a reason to use it. Halloween is coming up and I have a little sister so maybe I can find a way to use it with her Halloween costume layout. Who knows. The next thing is that I don't even know what pigment ink is. I had no idea until I was browsing around Hobby Lobby that there are different kinds of ink. I will figure it out though.

Oh, one more thing before I go... I love these chipboard word books I have been seeing and I want to do one but I can't see spending the money to buy the book when I can make my own. So, as soon as I find a little extra time, I will be making my own and posting the process here.

I noticed that our local Starbucks has shut its doors. I was so sad that I could've cried. I will miss you my lovely Starbucks.

I'm back.

I know, it's been a while. (I’m almost 100% sure that nobody is reading this.)

I’m going to blog anyway.

Not a lot has been going on in scrappin’ world for me as of right now. I have tried a few new things but nothing worth sharing.

I don’t have adequate space to scrap right now because I am in the process of remodeling my room. And, because I have to do it on my own, it’s taking longer. Therefore, my scrap supplies are in boxes in my closet.

But with all that, I have managed to find some great deals on a few items. I bought a stamp set, which I adore, at Hobby Lobby for less than $1.50. I also found a wonderful swirl stencil for less than $3.99.

I’m really going to try to get back to blogging soon. Maybe by then, I can have some followers.

For those few that do read me, and those that may stumbled upon this by accident, bear with me, please.

Have a scrappy day!

First Day of Scrap Blog

Hello everyone! Welcome to my new scrap blog. I have decided to start blogging about my scrapping because I need a place to record my techniques and attempts at things so I can learn from them.

This is my first attempt at blogging so be patient with me. LOL.
