School, school, school

It's Thanksgiving week and while most places are out of school, I'm working my butt off to get as far ahead as I can. I don't know if that's a good thing but I guess I'll find out, huh? I took a full course load this semester and while it's a good thing, it has been frustrating trying to hold down a full-time job and go to schoo full-time. I know that all this hard work will be well worth it in the end. It's just, the journey getting there, it's not all peaches and creme. The only class I haven't tried to get ahead in is my US history class. Why? Well, it's simple... I do not like to study history. I enjoy history when it's not something I HAVE to do. This is my last general education class so I shouldn't be complaining too much. It's taken me almost 3 years to go back to school and while it's rough, I'm glad I'm doing it. I guess feeling like you're in a rut is a good way to put a fire under your tail and get you motivated. I'm not saying that I haven't slacked a bit on my classes. I have, just a little. It's a given with me. I really should work on that though. Maybe next semester I will.

Commercialized holiday

I don't blog much on here. Maybe because not many people read my blog. Sometimes I feel so alone on here. It's like, What's the poin? in blogging when very seldom do I get any feedback. I guess I continue to do it in hopes that my blog with help me if not anybody else. I'm not very good at blogging, I've come to that realization. I guess this blog is just kind of an outlet for me sometimes; a place for me to post my scrapbook projects from time to time. Maybe, track my progress? I guess you'd say.

Thanksgiving is coming up. Not that big of a deal to me. Holidays are so commercialized these days. Just another way for people who don't need it to make money off of those of us who want to get together with family and friends and just be happy.

Another creation

I finished the layout for the Round Robin scraplift challenge at scrapbook.com. It's not much but I like it. I hand cut the flowers myself so that kind of makes it special to me.

It's coming alone nicely...

my room, that is. I managed to paint some more of my room. I have a small portion of the wall behind my computer desk to finish. I would've had it finished already but I just do not have the energy to take everything off my computer desk and move my it. My desk is one of those corner desks that reaches the ceiling. It's a pain to move. It's pretty heavy. So, that's a project for next weekend.

I managed to finish a layout for a challenge on sb.com called the Round Robin challenge. When I can upload it for the challenge, I will upload it here. I actually like the way the layout turned out. It has handmade embellishments on it so I'm pretty proud of it.

Newest creation.

Well, I said I would post my layout when I finished it. So, here it is..

It's not much to look at but I think it's cute. Oh, by the way, here is the layout that I lifted.

I'm a lifter.

I have come to the conclusion that I am a lifter. That's right, I admit it. I find myself so many times lifting other people's scrapbook pages. Why? Because other people have such better ideas than I do. My pages don't always turn out as good as theirs though. Maybe that's what I get for lifting instead of racking my brain to come up with my own things. I don't give myself enough credit though. Every once in a while, I come up with a layout that I created completely on my own. But still, my pages never turn out as I had hoped they would. It's alright though.

I'm working on a lift right now and I will post it as soon as I can. It's not turning out the way I had hoped but I think it looks pretty good. I often times find myself wishing I was as talented as some people I have seen. But then, I think about the years they have put in and the money they have spent and, I know why I'm not as good as they are. Maybe after a few years, where I've built up my supplies and tools, I can create better pages. Until then... I'll work with what I've got.

I need to get to work...

...on my layouts for challenges, that is. I have so many pictures I need to get printed. Yet, so many other things that are of more importance. Why can't the world just revolve around scrapbooking?!? Why!!!??? For one day, I would like to be able to just scrap, scrap, scrap. But, alas, real life doesn't allow us to do that, huh? This semester at school will soon come to an end and I'll have a little more free time. I'm almost finished painting my room so that's looking up. As soon as that's finished, it's on to trying to convince my dad to put my new flooring down ASAP. (That, my friends, is a task in itself.) And, hopefully, I will be able to buy a store-away table so that I can hide it when I'm not scrapping on it. No more of this scrapping in the floor or the table in the kitchen. I'm in need of storage ideas for my scrap supplies though! Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a few rubbermaid storage containers but nothing fancy. I will get it figured out I'm sure. Until then, check back for updates...

Scrap'd the idea...

So, I scrap'd the idea of using felt. (For the time being.) My local Wal-Mart was out of every color except white. And, I needed 2 or 3 colors. So until they get a new shipment in, I'm putting the felt technique on hold.

I am working on studying for my AFF (Accelerated Freefall) Certification. Yes, it's skydiving. I want to be able to skydive by myself without being attached Tandem to anybody. For those of you thinking "You're crazy!" just go skydiving once and see if you like it. For me, it was the thrill of a lifetime. And, believe me, I'm not much of a risk taker. It was well worth the risk though. And, I loved it so much, I want to be able to do it on my own. It's great!

Well, I soon hope to have a QuiKutz Revolution. Hopefully, I'm getting it for Christmas(if not before then). If anybody reading this has a Revolution, I'd love to hear feedback. I posted on scrapbook.com but haven't heard any feedback. So please, send me feedback if you know anything about it.
