OMG! 5 lbs down!

Can it be true? Can it!? According to my scales, this morning, (just after getting up mind you) I've lost 5 lbs. I'm now down to 135. I haven't seen 135 in a while. I'm so excited. It's been 18 days since I started my weight loss journey. In 18 days, I've lost 5 lbs. I absolutely can't wait for another 18 days and 5 lb. weight loss. I will treat myself to something nice once I reach my first goal of 10 lbs lost. Oh! Below is my counter, I'm going to start posting it with every post.

Giving up.

So, I gave up on the challenge. I hurt my knee trying to jog the other day. I will just strive to finish walking a mile in less and less time and maybe, just maybe.. one day... I will work up to jogging. I think I would need a knee brace in order to really jog. But, on the plus side, I have been working out every single day for almost 3 weeks now. That, my friends, is an accomplishment all on its own.

My weight is down to 137 which is great. I'm still going to keep going though. I want to be back to 120 at the most. But, my goal is 115. I will make it! I will, I will, I will!

Day #3 of Couch to 10K Challenge

I managed to get out and walk/jog 1.5 miles today. Not all together, I did 1 mile this morning around 11AM and the 0.5 mile this afternoon around 5PM. I'm slowly working up to being able to jog more and more. I was able to finish an eighth of a mile today all at once. 2 days ago, I could barely jog a quarter of a mile. I'm slowly building my way up in hopes of being able to complete a mile. No time frame on it of course but to completely 100% jog a full mile without stopping.

Oh! And, my scale says I'm down to 138. 2 lbs gone!! Hopefully, I'll be down 5 lbs by the end of next week.

Day #1 of Couch to 10K

Today was day #1 of my attempt at the afore mentioned Couch to 10K challenge I guess you'd call it. I managed to finish 20 minutes of the first 34 minute session. 17 of that was devoted to walking and the other 3 minutes were jogging. I did them in intervals as the program states but I just couldn't reach the 34 minute limit. One reason, it was below 40oF and the wind was blowing which made the wind chill horrible. I don't have a treadmill so I have to use our local parks/walking trails. But, I'm attempting so I am giving myself credit for that. I also posted a progress blog on http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ to help me in my weight loss goal. I posted before pictures to begin with. Hopefully, next month, I can post a couple of pictures that will show some progress.

I'm currently at 140 lbs. My goal is 115 lbs.

Couch to 10K

I've decided to try a new workout since the weather around here has slowly been improving. It's called Couch to 10K. Now, while my goal isn't to be able to run 10K by no means, I would still like to try this workout. It seems like it would help to be able to work up to running/jogging more and more. I've joined MyFitnessPal.com and so far, I've lost 1 lb but I have just been cutting back calories and doing some light workouts such as walking. I have a counter at the bottom of my blog from MyFitnessPal.com that helps track how much weight I've lost. But, I think this new workout will help me get in better shape for the summer.
